Tamaqua incidents

Tamaqua police cited several people this weekend in alcohol-related incidents.

On Saturday at 9:30 p.m., officers were called to 31 N. Railroad St., where they found Christina Fletcher, 37, of 56 E. High St., Coaldale, asleep on the porch. Fletcher was in an obviously intoxicated condition and became combative when officers attempted to get her to leave.She was cited for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.At 2:09 a.m. on July 13, officers on patrol heard a loud voice coming from Depot Square Park, where Kristen Benek, 33, of 247 W. White St., Summit Hill, was dancing around one of the poles. She left the park and stumbled her way north on Mauch Chunk Street until officers were able to stop her.She was cited for public drunkenness.Later Sunday morning, at 3:10 a.m., officers saw Brian Fritz, 37, of 335 Hazle St., Tamaqua, walking along Cedar Street, stumbling a bit, drinking a beer.He received citations for public drunkenness and violating the borough's open container ordinance.At 5:07 a.m., a resident at 340 Hazle St. called to report someone was in the front seat of their vehicle. Officers found Jeffrey Gurnavage, 29, of 426 E. Union St., passed out behind the wheel. He also showed signs of being drunk and was missing his left shoe.He too was cited for public drunkenness.
