Franklin Township Babe Ruth advances to 15-year old state tourney

The Franklin Township 15-year-old Babe Ruth team made a strong run through the District 4 loser's bracket to advance to the Pennsylvania State Tournament. Franklin Township finished in second place in the district tournament to earn its berth in the state tourney that open on Thursday, July 17 in Drums. After losing to eventual champ Valley, 16-1 in its opener, franklin won four straight games, defeating Lansford, Pottsville, Blue Valley and Greater Hazleton to reach the finals of the double elimination tourney where they once again fell to Valley.
