Good job on detour, bridge work

Dear Editor,

I am writing to praise the engineers who designed the detour. It is working well. I know people get frustrated waiting in lines of traffic, but we needed that bridge fixed. When I leave Weissport I have found people to be polite and they let me in where there is a line of traffic, which I do in return to others. I do leave extra early if I have an appointment. When you see all the traffic coming through Weissport, it makes us realize how much that new bridge is needed. I know when I was on that bridge and tractor-trailers would pass me, the bridge would shake; how much can it take?At first there was a glitch when people would get under the light and then when it was the others' turn they couldn't move, but again thanks to the engineers they put a huge X at both places so when the light turns red there is no creeping under the red light. It will be beautiful and safer once it is done. I hope people realize that this had to be done for our safety, and again my accolades go out to the engineers who designed the detour. A lot of times when people complain to me about it I do ask them since this is a must, do they have any other suggestions how to handle this situation? So far I got the answer NO!Hang in there, drivers. The months go by so fast this will be over and will be a good conversation piece in years to come about our new bridge and the detour.I do think once the bridge is finished we are still going to have major problems on 443 getting to the stores. With more stores coming in, we are going to have major problems since it is only a two-lane road.Have a good day, everyone, especially the drivers who have to travel. Be safe and stay cool-tempered.Kay BegelWeissport
