Freshman orientation

Stephen Toth, principal at Tamaqua Area High School, has announced that freshman orientation for the 2014-2015 school year will begin at 7 p.m. on Aug. 13, in the school district auditorium.Parents and new students will be provided information on student schedules and activities, facilities and discipline.Tours will not be given that evening, but may be scheduled by calling 570-668-1901, between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday.AuditionsThe Tamaqua Area Community Theatre will be holding auditions for the upcoming production of "The Groom Has Cold Feet," an old-time Western murder mystery, which will be performed in August.Auditions for actors/actresses, between the ages of 12 and 20, will be held at 6 p.m. July 14, 15 and 16.
