A Reeders man was scheduled to have three preliminary hearings before District Judge Colleen Mancuso on June 20, but elected to waive those hearings to Monroe County Court.

Russell James Hayes, 23, was in the magistrate's court for hearings on charges related to a theft, hindering prosecution and a burglary.Hayes was charged with theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, conspiracy to receive stolen property and conspiracy to commit theft, all felonies after an April 5 incident. He was also charged with hindering prosecution on April 26 and with burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and criminal mischief related to a June 20 offense. The arresting officer in all three cases is Pennsylvania state trooper Brian Janoski.Bail for each set of charges was set at $10,000 unsecured.Daniel Paul Rogouski, 24, of Bartonsville, was in court for two preliminary hearings, both waived to court. Trooper Daniel Nilon charged him with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to stay in his lane of traffic for a May 4, 2013, offense. Trooper Gabriel Saracino charged Rogouski with DUI of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license after an Aug. 1, 2013, incident.Bail was set at $5,000 percentage in each of the cases. Unable to post bond, Rogouski was confined to the Monroe County Prison.Dylan James Penny, 20, of Effort, was in court to answer to charges in connection with the transfer/purchase of a firearm. He was charged with making a false written statement in connection with the transfer, as well as making a false, unsworn statement to authorities by trooper James Youngblood. The charges were filed following a Sept. 10, 2013, firearms sale.The charges were bound over for court and he was released on $5,000 unsecured bail.David Christopher Matthews, 37, of Nanticoke, waived a hearing on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, DUI of a controlled substance, driving with a suspended license and failure to signal a turn. The charges stem from a July 19, 2013, offense and were filed by trooper John Cheponis.Bail was originally set at $2,500 percentage, but was reduced to $2,500 unsecured.Cheyenne Carter, 23, of Ridgefield, Connecticut, waived a hearing on charges of DUI of alcohol (0.16 BAC or higher), driving an unregistered vehicle, failure to stay in the travel lane and careless driving. The charges stem from a March 30 incident and were filed by Cheponis.She was released on $2,500 unsecured bail.Rhea Samuels, 23, of Effort, had her case heard, with all but one of the charges held for court. She was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol (0.10 to 0.16 BAC), resisting arrest, criminal attempt to escape, disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and trespass by motor vehicle. The charges were filed by trooper Jeffrey Kowalski in connection with a March 4 incident.Bail was set at $5,000 unsecured.Christina Helen Colucci, 38, of Effort, was charged by Kowalski with DUI (0.10 to 0.16 BAC), failure to carry the vehicle registration, driving with a suspended license, failure to stay in the traffic lane and careless driving. The charges were filed following a Feb. 18 incident and were all waived to court.Bail was set at $2,500 unsecured.Sheryl Shenton, 26, of Saylorsburg, waived a hearing on charges of DUI (0.16 BAC or higher), driving an unregistered vehicle, driving without a license, driving with a revoked license, failure to stay in the traffic lane and careless driving. The charges were filed by trooper James Rabel after a March 25 incident.Bail was set at $5,000 unsecured.
