Panther Valley Public LibraryHere is what's happening at the Panther Valley Public Library for the month of July. The library is located at 117 E. Bertsch St. in Lansford.At 6 p.m. Thursday there will be a special science program. "Pop Pop Zing" will be presented by Super Science and Amazing Art of PA.Teen movie night will take place at 6 p.m. on Friday."Fizz Boom Read It's Magic" will be presented at 6 p.m. July 21.The end of program recognition night for 7-12 year olds will take place at 6 p.m. July 28.The end of program recognition day for 3-6 year olds will take place at 10 a.m. July 29.The recognition programs will include prizes, certificates and treats for everyone that participated in the program.Golden AgersThe June 23 meeting of the Panther Valley Golden Agers was opened with a reading by treasurer Fran Golder and the Pledge of Allegiance.Guest speakers from Carbon, Monroe and Pike Drug and Alcohol Commission, Robert Mikulski, assistant administrator, and Jacqueline Verhauz, prevention specialist, spoke on addiction to casino gambling and lottery.The next meeting will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at St. John's Slovak Lutheran Church Social Hall, 1 E. Abbott St. in Lansford. The guest speaker will be from Heritage Hills.Summit HillVacation Bible SchoolChurch on the Rock will hold a Vacation Bible School from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Aug. 11-15 at "Fennon's Grove," located at the intersection of Andreas Road and Winter Mountain Drive in Andreas.Children will learn about Jesus, play games, swim, do crafts and make friends.For more information or to register, call Chris at 570-417-3752.
