Six injured in Schuylkill crash

Six people were injured in a three vehicle crash that occurred about 8:03 p.m. on Saturday at the intersection of Route 183 and Blue Mountain Heights, in Wayne Township, Schuylkill County.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Jams Gauche, 49, of Schuylkill, was southbound on 183 and slowed to make a left turn onto Blue Mountain Heights. His 2014 Chevrolet Cruz was then struck in the rear by a 2005 Honda Odyssey operated by Guerlyne Taussai, 38, of Douglassville, Berks County. Upon impact the Cruz was pushed into the northbound lane and directly into the path of a 2005 Dodge Ram truck operated by Leo Tobin, 48, of Saint Clair. Upon impact the Ram continued north and struck a sign, then flipped over onto the driver's side coming to rest in the northbound lane.Gauche had to be extricated from his vehicle and was flown by medical helicopter to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. Taussai was taken by ambulance to the Reading hospital. Tobin and passengers, Tracy Tobin, 46, and two minor children, were all transported to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville.Damages were disabling to the three vehicles, all had to be towed from the scene.The road was closed for about five hours, troopers said.
