A Schuylkill County man has been charged with assaulting his father.

State police at Frackville said James Doyle Jr., 39, of 56 St. Mortiz Drive, Zion Grove, North Union Township, struck his father numerous times in his face, nose and back of the head. He also kicked his father in the back. The father sustained visible injuries including bleeding, cut at the bridge of the nose and blurred vision in his left eye.Doyle fled the home before the arrival of troopers.The incident occurred at 7:13 p.m. on Friday. Doyle was charged with simple assault.
