The former Leiby's Restaurant in South Tamaqua sold at auction for $1.5 million to Gary Dell'Alba of K-Mar Properties, a real estate investment firm.

The auction drew about 160 attendees to the location in West Penn Township and lasted only one-half hour.The business closed in December 2007 due to declining sales after the restaurant changed hands, leading to a downturn in food quality and service.
