No interlock system on vehicle

A Monroe County man has been charged with operating a motor vehicle without an ignition interlock system despite being required to have one on his vehicle.

Pocono Mountain Regional police were dispatched to Lexington Avenue, in Pocono Summit, Coolbaugh Township, at 11:30 p.m. on June 15 for a domestic incident. On scene, officers made contact with Christopher L. Caamano, 31, of Bushkill, and his ex-girlfriend. During the course of the investigation it was determined that Caamano drove his black BMW from East Stroudsburg to the Lexington Avenue location within the past hour. A driver's license check showed that Caamano was restricted to only operating a vehicle equipped with an ignition interlock device due to a prior driving under the influence conviction. The BMW was not equipped with the device.Police said a misdemeanor count of operating a motor vehicle not equipped with ignition interlock was filed against Caamano.
