Man fell asleep in car holding burger, blocked intersection

A Nesquehoning man faces charges after police found him asleep in his vehicle, blocking an intersection.

Mahoning Township police observed a Jeep blocking an intersection with its lights out at the Carbon Plaza Mall at 11 p.m. on Feb. 27.

As the officer approached the vehicle he found the driver Troy Refsnider of Nesquehoning asleep behind the wheel with a burger from Mcdonald’s in his hand.

Refsnider was placed under arrest, and he refused a requested blood test.

Police said this week that Refsnider has been charged with driving under the influence and obstructing highways.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 30.
