The Borough of Northampton stretched 18 new banners on light poles from Seventh Street to 24th Street.

Previously, dark green banners were used to decorate the town's streets, but after five years, they were taken down.The new banners had a colorful, patriotic theme to reflect the borough's 100th anniversary with splashes of red, white and blue, along with stars dominant in the design.
