A 61-year-old Schuylkill County woman is dead as the result of a violent head-on crash along Route 54 in Butler township Wednesday afternoon.

The crash occurred at 12:45 p.m. just east of the village of Gilberton in Butler township. The Schuylkill County coroner's office identified the victim of the crash as Mary Lou Leiby of Ringtown.
