A Carbon County man entered guilty pleas in four pending criminal cases on Tuesday in the county court.

He was one of seven defendants to enter a guilty plea before Judge Joseph J. Matika.Various victimsRandy Edgar, 34, of Lehighton, pleaded to two counts of criminal conspiracy-theft, and one count each of receiving stolen property and criminal trespass. One theft count and the trespass charge are felonies.Edgar admitted his part in various thefts that occurred over a period of time between October 2013 into February of this year.Edgar's co-defendant in the cases, Stephanie N. Lill, 26, of Lehighton, pleaded guilty last week before Judge Steven R. Serfass to counts of burglary, theft, receiving stolen property and criminal trespass and was sentenced to serve 24 to 48 months in a state prison. Lill was also ordered by Serfass to make restitution for various victims totaling $6,343.Edgar went with Lill on many of the entries to homes. Some homes he entered, while at other times he waited outside. He also participated in getting rid of the stolen merchandise.Matika accepted Edgar's plea but deferred sentencing ordering the adult probation office to prepare a presentence investigation report.Other pleasOther defendants who entered pleas included:Hector Hutcheson, 34, of Lansford, pleaded to one count of hindering apprehension.He was arrested by Lansford police for an incident that occurred on or about Dec. 30, 2012. Police responded to the 200 block of East Patterson Street for a minor accident. A passenger with Hutcheson was Derek Hunsicker, police said. He fled the scene before the arrival of officers.Police said they told Hutcheson that Hunsicker had an active warrant for his arrest and he should contact police if he sees Hunsicker again.Police later found the two men together and learned Hunsicker was residing with Hutcheson for a time.Hutcheson denied that part of the police report but did admit he knew Hunsicker was wanted.Matika placed him on probation for six months and ordered he render 25 hours of community service.John Phillip Ockenhouse, 35, of Lansford, pleaded to one count of criminal attempt-retail theft.He was arrested by Mahoning Township police on Oct. 21, 2013, for an incident at the Walmart store. Police said another person with Ockenhouse went into the store to steal items while he waited outside in a vehicle.Matika placed him on probation for a year and ordered he render 50 hours of community service, and must stay out of the Walmart store during the sentence.Chaun James West-Samaroo, 20, of Northampton, and formerly of Lansford, pleaded in two pending cases.He pleaded to one count of theft for an incident on July 4, 2013, by Lansford police for taking the credit card of Virginia O'Gorman and using it at a local store.He also pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia for an incident on Dec. 21, 2013. Lansford police were called to 265 E. Bertsch St. for an unwanted person. West-Samaroo was the person involved, and when arrested, police found drug paraphernalia on him.On the theft count Matika placed him on probation for a year and ordered he make restitution to O'Gorman for $1,066, get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment, have no contact with O'Gorman, and render 50 hours of community service.On the drug count he was placed on probation for six months, concurrent with the theft charge.Manuel Antonio Rivera-Agosto, 40, of Allentown, pleaded in two pending cases.He pleaded to one count of retail theft for an incident on April 25 at the Walmart store in Mahoning Township in which televisions were taken. He also pleaded to retail theft and possession of drug paraphernalia for an incident on April 14, also at the Walmart store and the theft of TVs.Matika deferred sentencing and ordered the adult probation to prepare a PSI.Elias Cruz, 45, of Allentown, pleaded to one count of criminal conspiracy-retail theft, and driving under the influence.He was involved with Rivera-Agosto in April 25 incident. Cruz was driving the vehicle involved, and when police responded to the theft report officers stopped Cruz, who was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance.Matika deferred sentencing.Crystal D. Fehnel, 26, of Weatherly, pleaded to one count each of retail theft and possession of a controlled substance.She was arrested on July 8, 2013, by Lansford police for an incident at the Family Dollar Store, 700 E. Patterson St. While being arrested, police found heroin in her purse.On the drug count Matika placed her on probation for a year and ordered her to get a D&A evaluation, and render 50 hours of community service.On the retail theft charge she was fined $100.Each defendant sentenced must also pay court costs, which average about $1,000, and pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
