Schuylkill driver facing charges

A Schuylkill County driver is facing charges following a hit-and-run incident. It was one of two hit-and-runs investigated by state police at Schuylkill Haven.

Troopers said at 7:40 p.m. on June 19 Timothy J. Specht, 33, of Valley View, was driving a 2005 Dodge Dakota pickup southbound on Fearnot Road in Hubley Township, when he failed to negotiate a left curve in the road. The truck went onto the west berm and struck an electric fence. After hitting the fence, the truck continued in a southwest direction and struck a tree, where it came to rest.Specht was injured and fled the scene before the arrival of troopers. He was later located. Numerous citations will be filed against Specht, troopers said.The second hit and run was reported on Saturday along Route 61 in East Norwegian Township at 11:20 a.m.Troopers said a 2008 Nissan Pathfinder was parked in a lot at the Lowe's store when it was struck by another vehicle, whose driver fled the scene.
