Monroe woman dies of injuries from crash

A Monroe County woman, one of six people injured in a head-on crash Friday evening, has died.

Katrina Strausser, 42, died Saturday from injuries sustained in the crash that occurred at 8:10 p.m. along Route 611 at the Mount Pocono sewage system in Mount Pocono.She was a passenger in a Chevrolet Camaro that was driven northbound and passing vehicles when it collided with a Mitsubishi head-on. Strausser and three other people in the Camaro, Kirk Randler, 46; Gunner Strausser, 18; and Ricky Strausser, 22, all of Long Pond, were ejected from the car upon impact. The two people in the Mitsubishi, Orlando Gonzalez, 66, and Carmen Gonzalez, 67, both of Queens, New York, were also injured.Gunner and Ricky Strausser are Katrina Strausser's sons.Pocono Mountain Regional police, who investigated, said two people were flown by helicopter to area hospitals and four were taken by ambulances. Police did not identify who was flown by helicopter.The police report indicated that improper passing and speed appeared to be factors in the crash.The investigation is continuing, police added.
