The Jim Thorpe Area School Board approved the contract for incoming Superintendent Brian Gasper on Monday night with a 6-1 vote.

Gasper will be employed under the contract for five years at an annual salary of $110,000.He will begin as superintendent on July 1. Previously, he was principal at the Penn-Kidder Campus K-8.Gasper will be replacing Barbara Conway, who held the position since 2007 and will retire on June 30.
