If you haven't received one and would like one, contact the borough office at 570-325-3025.Garden dedicationSt. John's Lutheran Church, South Avenue, will officially dedicate its prayer garden on June 29. A spaghetti and meatball dinner will be served following the 10:30 a.m. worship service. The dedication will follow at approximately 1:30 p.m. A special monarch butterfly release will also be held at the dedication. Deadline to make dinner reservations is Sunday. Please contact the church office at 570-325-4255 or Irene Remmel at 570-325-4534 if planning to attend.Schwartz family reunionDescendants of Valentine Maximillian Schwartz (1831-1900) will be gathering on June 28 for a reunion at Memorial Park. Valentine's descendants have been faithfully gathering every other year since 1964. His descendants have now reached into the seventh generation.Valentine's entrepreneurial interests helped to establish the Schwartz Furniture and Undertaking business in Lehighton (1863) and later in Mauch Chunk until the mid-60s, when it closed.
