Two arrested in Nesquehoning

Two Nesquehoning residents were arrested following an incident that occurred May 9 in the area of the foot bridge between Willow Lane and Musmano Alley in the borough.

Police identified the two as Dennis Nedley, 31, of 216 W. High St., and Moises Flores, 20, of 116 Willow Lane. Nedley is charged with tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, selling or furnishing liquor or malt or brewed beverages to minors, and scattering rubbish upon land/stream.Flores is charged with tampering with or fabricating physical evidence; scattering rubbish; purchased, consumption, possession or transportation of intoxicating beverages; and false identification to law enforcement authorities.According to the arrest report, at 9:29 p.m. on May 9, officer Carl Breiner went on foot patrol at the foot bridge and found Nedley, Flores and a Elijah Frey standing on the bridge with an open case of beer next to them and several beer cans on the ground where they were standing.Flores was known to the officer as being underage. When questioned, Flores insisted he was 21 and that he just had a birthday. Another officer arrived to assist and identified Flores as being under 21 through a prior involvement with him.While speaking with Frey, someone had quickly thrown the cans over the bridge, which landed next to the waterway underneath the bridge. This was done, the report states, as Breiner was collecting evidence.Nedley admitted to furnishing at least one beer to both Flores and Frey. Nedley also admitted throwing some of the cans off the bridge and said Flores threw at least one can. Nedley was made to pick up the cans.Both Nedley and Flores were told they would be charged in connection with the incident.
