Walter Kruczek (center) presents the 2014 Joe Plasko Scholarship Awards to Joann Butkus and Michael Kelly, Tamaqua Area High School scholar-athletes. The presentation was made on behalf of the Tamaqua Blue Raider Foundation in honor of Plasko, a staunchsupporter of the district's athletics who died unexpectedly in 2011. The scholarship was established by Pencor Services Inc. of Palmerton, parent company of Plasko's employer, The Times News LLC.
