A Monroe County woman is facing a charge of simple assault following an incident that occurred about 10:20 p.m. on June 11.

State police at Lehighton responded to the 200 block of Birchwood Park, in Saylorsburg, Ross Township, for an altercation. On scene troopers learned that Amy May Beers, 32, of Saylorsburg, had struck a 35-year-old male from Saylorsburg, in the face multiple times with a belt and fist resulting in a laceration that required sutures.
