Shamokin town council held a meeting where the firm Angelo Christman & Co., was awarded the contract to pave various streets at a cost of about $66,249.67.

The bids on the contract were lower than anticipated, and a motion led to the entire program being carried out.Mr. Pascoe, a representative of the successful bidders, stated that the firm may prepare to pave as soon as the contract was signed.The secretary was instructed to notify the Gas Company to remove the lines it recently laid on West Kline Avenue so they would not interfere with construction of a new sewer.
