June 12, 1947 Walter Slog strikes out 12 batters and earns the pitching win in Lansford 10-2 Panther Valley League victory over Mauch Chunk. Slog scatters seven hits and walks just one over his nine innings of work. The winners take the lead for good with four runs in the bottom of the first inning. "Toss" Ponting, who started the rally with a hit and run scored, finishes the contest with four hits. Larry Furey collects three hits, one a double, while Joe Fignar adds a pair of hits and three runs scored. Lansford also receives two hits from "Stosh" Porambo and "Dubby" Derby.
