Care packages are being collected at the Coaldale Borough Office for Summit Hill native Julie Matyascik Cromer and her crew, who are deployed on the USS Bataan.

Packages can be dropped off at the Coaldale office and will be "group shipped" June 22, July 31 and Sept. 1. Items for the care packages include nonperishable food items, such as beef jerky, sunflower seeds, trail mix, dried fruit, instant oatmeal, coffee and drink powders; hygienic items such as shampoo, dental floss, hand sanitizer, toothpaste and toothbrushes; and moral boosters such as letters, batteries, magazines and children's drawings.
