On Sunday the Palmerton Area Library held its third annual Student Art Show.

The show was well attended with refreshments served by the Friends of the Library.Over 30 paintings were entered and judged by a professional artist.The winners in the age 6-12 category are: first place, Aliya DeKort; second place, Kierra Pfaff; third place, Gina Laviolette; and honorable mention, Ella Cronk.In the age 13-18 category the winners are: first place, Riley Zelienka; second place, Tate Koch; and third place, Riley Zelienka.The two first-place winners received $25 each from the Friends of the Library.The other winners received gift certificates for the library book sale.All the paintings are on display for one more week in the gallery upstairs at the library and the public is welcome to stop in during library hours to see what the young artists in the area can do.
