A traffic stop in Monroe County has led to a charge of driving under the influence and the arrest of a wanted person.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said at 1:53 a.m. on Saturday, officers stopped a pickup operated by Prassana Madramootoo, 43, of Effort, for several traffic violations along Route 115 near Interstate 80.Madramootoo showed signs of impairment and submitted to field sobriety tests, which he failed. It was discovered that Madramootoo had an active warrant for his arrest for failure to appear for a previous DUI charge.Madramootoo was taken into custody and transported to the county DUI center for a blood test.He was then lodged in the county prison on the outstanding warrant and will be charged with another count of DUI.
