Sunday, June 8 is Pentecost Sunday and St. Matthew's UCC confirmation class will be confirmed at the 9 a.m. worship service. There will be a reception immediately afterward in the social hall.At noon there will be an alternative worship service with country/gospel music by "The Path" band. Dress casual.Donations and carsSt. Matthew's needs donations of sugar, Carnation Evaporated Milk and whole milk to make homemade ice cream for the Strawberry Festival and Car Show on June 15.Donors can bring items to the church during office hours, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. or Sunday from 8-11:30 a.m. Also needed is homemade sponge cake.Cars are needed for the car show, from vintage, old, muscle, modified, street rods, stock and new.To preregister, contact Magen or Glenn Snyder at 610-381-2618, or register that day beginning at 8 a.m.Chestnut Ridge SeniorsChestnut Ridge Seniors will meet at 11 a.m., Thursday at the Kunkletown Volunteer Fire Company. They will be celebrating Father's Day with gifts for fathers.They will serve ham and bean soup and play bingo. Bring a nonperishable food item for Pleasant Valley Ecumenical Network.Exercising seniorsThere is a low-impact exercise class for those over 55 from 9:30-10:30 a.m., every Tuesday and Thursday at the Kunkletown Volunteer Fire Company.
