Police report crashes in Carbon, Monroe

State police at Fern Ridge are investigating the following crashes:

A one-vehicle crash occurred at 5:48 p.m. Friday, May 23, along Towamensing Trail, in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County. Troopers said Eric M. Safianow, 19, of Jim Thorpe, was driving a 1999 Acura eastbound, just west of Milton Way, when he lost control. The vehicle left the road and struck a tree along the right shoulder. After impact with the tree the vehicle continued forward and struck a ditch where it came to rest.Safianow sustained a minor injury and was treated at the scene. He was cited in the incident.A hit-and-run crash was reported at 7:16 a.m. on Friday along Old Stage Road, in Penn Forest Township. A vehicle was traveling eastbound when it left its lane of travel and struck a mailbox along the westbound shoulder in the area of 69 Old Stage Road. The driver then fled the scene.Troopers investigated a one-vehicle crash at 6:50 p.m. on Saturday, May 24, along Interstate 80 in Kidder Township, Carbon County. Troopers said Martina Y. Roberts, 41, of Williamsport, was driving a 2011 Nissan Juke westbound when the left rear tire became flat. This caused Roberts to lose control of the vehicle. She attempted to regain control but was unable and the vehicle began to spin out.The vehicle left the road on the left shoulder, struck an embankment with the rear driver's side and continued along the embankment before striking a small tree where it came to rest.Roberts was not injured.Troopers investigated a motorcycle crash at 2:02 p.m. on Sunday along Route 715, at Camp Alice Lane, in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Kristen M. Krikorian, 32, of Souderton, Bucks County, was driving a 2014 Yamaha bike northbound when she made an abrupt stop. This caused her to lose control of the bike, which fell on its right side and slid across the road and came to rest.Krikorian sustained moderate injuries and was taken to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, for treatment.
