May 29, 2001 Tom Teprovich pitches a one-hitter and Erik Wertman blasts a two homers to help Marian defeat Pius X, 5-1, in a District 11 Class A semifinal contest. Teprovich tosses no-hit ball for five innings before allowing a solo homer in the sixth. The right-hander walks two and strikes out seven. Wertman drills a two-run homer in the third inning and adds a solo blast in the fifth. The Colts, coached by Jeff Nietz, also receive two hits, two RBIs and a run scored from Al Donadi while Max Fada and Jim Kash each chip in with a pair of hits.
