Driver charged with hit-and-run

A Brodheadsville man was injured in a single-vehicle crash at 8:35 a.m. May 17 in which he was cited for hit-and-run.

State police atLehighton said William Vanburen, 42, of wasdriving a 2007 Ford Freestyle, southbound in the right lane of Long Mountain Road in Polk Township, MonroeCounty, and was attempting a left turn when he struck a stump, causing his vehicle to spin clockwise.The car overturned and came to rest on the passenger side of the vehicle, approximately 30 feet from the shoulder of the road.Vanburen fled the scene and was attempting to avoid police. About six hours later he was located by West End Fire Company after they were called to assist in finding him.Vanburen was injured but the severity is unknown.He was charged with a hit-and-run.
