Wet roads contribute to crash

A single-vehicle crash occurred at 8:20 a.m. May 16.

Driver Amy Pensyl, 36, of Jim Thorpe, was driving a 2001 Ford Focus, traveling east bound on Route 48 in the right lane, west of the Bowmanstown exit in Bowmanstown and lost control of the vehicle due to wet road conditions. She hydroplaned out of control.The vehicle rotated slightly to the left and traveled across the left lane before hitting the concrete divider in the front of the vehicle and proceeding to slide against the divider for approximately 40 feet.Pensyl was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. She was charged for driving too fast for conditions.The vehicle was towed from the scene by Strohl's Towing.
