Break-in, theft incidents probed

State police at Lehighton reported investigating a burglary and attempted burglary and other incidents.

• Copper pipes were taken from a residence at 8745 Lady Marian Drive, in Polk Township. Once inside the crawl space the criminals removed copper pipes. They also entered a shed on the property and removed four extension cords, an Echo trimmer, and a chain saw. The incident occurred sometime between midnight and 7 a.m. on May 1. The home is owned by Ed Theodore Gruber, 62, of Morton, Delaware County.•An attempted break-in occurred at the residence of James R. Costenbader, 42, of 47 Moyer Place, Lower Towamensing Township. Troopers said unknown criminals attempted to enter the home and damaged the front door. Nothing was taken. The incident occurred sometime between April 30 and May 4.• Raymond Post, 62, of 1490 Koch Road, Towamensing Township, Carbon County, reported a grass catcher was missing from his residence. The theft occurred sometime between May 12 and 13.• A window on an excavator at a logging/construction site along Faulstick Road in Saylorsburg, Ross Township, Monroe County, was damaged sometime on May 17. The equipment is owned by S&K Forest Resources, of Pen Argyl.• Trinity Baines, 37, of Effort, reported someone threw a large rock at her vehicle while she was traveling in the area of Serfass and Long Mountain roads, in Polk Township. The incident occurred about 1:30 a.m. on May 18. Baines was not injured.Anyone with information concerning any of these incidents is asked to call troopers at 610-377-4270.
