May 22, 1953 Don Howard's suicide squeeze bunt in the bottom of the seventh inning gives Lehighton a 4-3 Lehigh Valley League walk-off win over rival Palmerton. Tied at 3-3, the Indians load the bases with one out on a hit batter, walk and single. Howard, in a pinch-hitting role, lays down a perfect bunt that allows Dick Eckhart to race home with the winning run. Darryl Neeb gains the pitching victory, allowing just four hits and striking out three in his seven innings of work. Denny Roth collects three hits for the winners while Eckhart ends with one hits and three runs scored.
