Driver facing multiple charges for crash

A driver is facing multiple charges following a crash that occurred about 2:05 p.m. on Monday involving a school van. State police at Schuylkill Haven said the accident occurred along Route 183, just west of the Route 61 intersection in North Manheim Township, Schuylkill County.

Troopers said Brian A. Webber, 58, of Richland, was operating a 2011 Chevrolet Equinox and was northbound stopped for traffic.Webber backed up his vehicle because he was tired of waiting in traffic due to construction on Route 61. The back of his vehicle struck the front of a 2007 GMC Savanah school van driven by Nicholas A. Adams, 25, of Orwigsburg. After impact Webber failed to check damages or provide any information before fleeing the scene, troopers said.The van had passengers Rebecca L. Bachert, 34, and Brenden Faust, 20, both of Orwigsburg, Christopher M. Homer, 20, and April A. Rohrer, 19, both of Schuylkill Haven, Corey Eisenhart, 19, of Cumbola, and two 17-year-old males, one from Cressona and the other from Orwigsburg.The teen from Cressona and Homer each sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene. No one else was injured.Troopers said numerous charges will be filed against Webber.
