Master barber opens in Lansford mini-mall

Lansford has a new barbershop.

Leighton Brown has opened the Master Barber shop in the Lansford mini-mall on West Ridge Street.Lansford Alive staged a ribbon-cutting for the shop.Brown, a native of Queens, New York, moved to Lansford in 2007. He got his barber's license in New York state and transferred it to Pennsylvania through reciprocity.He said he presently operates the barber shop by himself but soon will have his wife, Megan, joining him to do nails. Megan is a licensed nail technician.He officially opened for business on March 8.Brown said he does both men's and women's hair.Leighton and Megan have three children: Jacobe, 13; Victoria, 6; and Logan, 9 months.The barbershop accepts walk-ins or appointments.It is open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday to Friday, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. It's closed Sunday and Monday.
