A Hazleton man has been cited by Tamaqua police following an incident on May 10.

Officers were dispatched to 333 Rolling Mill Ave. at 3:50 a.m. after the Schuylkill County Communications Center received a call about a suspicious person in the area. The caller said a male, possibly intoxicated, was trying to enter the home.When officers arrived they found Alfred A. Singleton Jr., 48, of 931 N. Church St., Hazleton. Singleton was talking on his cell phone. He told police he had been drinking at the Pine Street Pub and was trying to figure out how to get home. The person he was speaking on the phone with told officers she lived in Lansford and provided an address where Singleton could stay.Singleton was cited for public drunkenness.
