Officers of the Wilkes-Barre enforcement office of the state liquor control board conducted age compliance checks at licensed establishments at various locations in Carbon and Monroe counties, on Wednesday, May 14, between 4 p.m. and midnight.

Compliance checks consist of liquor officers using supervised underage buyers in an attempt to purchase alcoholic beverages.On the detail a total of four licensed establishments were checked. One was found to be noncompliant, meaning they served the underage buyer alcoholic beverages.Three establishments were in compliance, meaning they did not serve alcoholic beverages to the underage buyer. They were Harmony Beverage, Blakeslee; Nick's Lake House, Lake Harmony; and Vertex Quest Corporation, trading as Log Cabin Bar & Grill, Tannersville, all in Monroe County.
