Police chase lands York County man in prison

A York County man has been jailed in Schuylkill County after being involved in an accident and fleeing the scene and leading police on a chase.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said the incident began about 4:50 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12, when Joshua David Hanna, 21, of Dillsburg, was involved in a crash along Interstate 78 near the Schuylkill/ Berks counties line. He fled the scene.Troopers then observed Hanna's vehicle traveling north on Route 183 in Schuylkill County.Troopers attempted to make a vehicle stop but Hanna refused to stop his vehicle and fled north on 183.A pursuit ensued and Hanna committed multiple traffic violations while fleeing north and traveling through Cressona and into Schuylkill Haven.He crashed his vehicle in Schuylkill Haven. He was arrested and was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol.He also refused medical treatment.Hanna was charged with fleeing or attempting to elude police, recklessly endangering another person, driving under the influence and other related traffic violations.He was arraigned before on-call District Judge Anthony Kilker of Shenandoah and committed to the county prison in Pottsville after failing to post $15,000 straight cash bail.
