Pocono Mountain Regional police report several drug arrests

Pocono Mountain Regional police reported on several drug related arrests.

On May 2 at 9:47 p.m. police observed a vehicle fail to stop for a steady red light at the intersection of state routes 940 and 423 at Pocono Pines in Tobyhanna Township. A vehicle stop was made. The officers smelled the strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.The driver was identified as Joseph Joel Morales, of Graham Lane, Tobyhanna. Morales had a strong odor of marijuana about him. Police were granted a consent search of the vehicle and found marijuana in the vehicle.Morales was placed under arrest for driving under the influence of a controlled substance. During the processing of Morales police found five bags of suspected marijuana stuffed in his underwear.He was also charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, tampering with evidence, driving while suspended, failure to stop for a traffic signal, and bringing drugs into a correctional facility.Morales was arraigned and placed in the county prison after failing to post $20,000 bail. The investigation is continuing. There were two passengers in the vehicle but they were not charged.On May 1 about 6:30 p.m. police received information concerning a drug transaction which occurred at the PenMart service station in Coolbaugh Township. A detailed description of the individual involved was provided to police as well as the vehicle he was driving.The vehicle was observed at Kings Way and Route 196 and a stop was made. The driver was identified as Brandon Cruz, of Hawley. He was extremely nervous and displayed numerous signs of illegal activity. He also provided false identification to the officers.Cruz was arrested on a warrant and transported to the county prison in Snydersville. Upon arrival at the prison Cruz was further searched and found were eight bags of suspected cocaine and 21 oxycodone pills in his underwear.Cruz was charged with possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, false ID to law enforcement, and tampering with evidence.On May 11 about 2 p.m. police executed a search warrant at 2145 Rosemont Drive in A Pocono Country Place development in Coolbaugh Township.Found were several suspected marijuana plants growing at various locations inside the home. The resident of the home, identified as Terrell Tribbey, will be charged with possession with intent to deliver, possession, and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.
