State police at Schuylkill Haven are looking for the driver who struck a pedestrian and then fled the scene. The incident occurred at 9:58 p.m. Friday along Route 183 in front of the Blue Ridge Hotel in Wayne Township, Schuylkill County.

Troopers said Lonnie Fergusoen, 47, of Schuylkill Haven, exited the front door of the hotel and while standing along the west berm and looking south, he observed the headlights of a vehicle traveling northbound.Feeling he would be able to make it across the road, Fergusoen ran onto the road where he was struck by the northbound vehicle. Fergusoen ended up along the east berm of the road.After impact the driver fled the scene northbound. Fergusoen was taken to the Reading Hospital by ambulance for treatment of what troopers said were moderate injuries.Troopers are asking anyone who may have witnessed this incident to call them at 570-739-1330.
