Strawberry Playhouse opens season with musical cabaret

The Strawberry Playhouse, 60 Church St. in Tuscarora, opens its 11th season with an entertaining musical cabaret, "Remember When" at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, May 17 and at 2 p.m. May 18.

Remember When offers music from the past and present spotlighting vocalists Jenna McBreen, Cassidy Munley and Lucille Falé-Brennan, with a featured performance by Rick LoradyMcBreen, a graduate of Muhlenberg College with a bachelor of arts in theater, has performed throughout the area and Philadelphia.A favorite at the Strawberry Playhouse, working along with J&L Productions, McBreen has performed a variety of roles. She has also performed in films such as "Tuxedo Joe," and is a featured vocalist with The Gary MacCready Ensemble.Munley is a senior at Pottsville Area High School, and secretary of the high school Drama Club. She has been performing with the Strawberry Playhouse since 2009 and is an accomplished guitarist and vocalist.Her latest role as Nancy, the female lead at the high school's production of "Oliver!" brought rave reviews. She plans to attend Penn State in the fall with a minor in theater.Lorady, the Italian Crooner, is known for his smooth vocals in the style of Dean Martin.He is the owner of Rickelodeon Entertainment, and has also served as an emcee for The Gordon Music Festival.Falé-Brennan, owner and partner of J&L Productions, is originally from New York and has performed throughout the tri-state area.Her love for the theater was the reason for purchasing the Strawberry Playhouse in 2003. Although she has not often performed on the playhouse stage, she has delighted audiences when she did.David Marchetti was born in the coal region and currently lives in Allentown.He is an accomplished keyboardist and has been with J&L productions for 15 years.For more information call 570-325-4368 or lafala@pa.metrocast.net.
