May 9, 1973 Ken Sterling wins three events to help Lehighton register a 65-53 Lehigh Valley League win over Catasauqua. Sterling captures the discus, long jump and triple jump. The Indians, who outscored their opponent by a 38-16 margin in the field events, also receive firsts from Ron Sherry (shot put) and Jay Seigendall (high jump). On the track, coach Kenny Reid's team gains individual wins from Tommy Kuller (100), Gary Wentz (440) and Kevin Koch (two mile).
