Vandalism, theft reported at Summit Hill soccer field

Damage was done and items were stolen at the concession stand of the Panther Valley little league soccer field.

The soccer field is in an isolated area behind Panther Valley Middle School. However, there are security cameras positioned there, police said.Joseph Fittos Jr., chief of police in Summit Hill, said the incident was reported to police at 1:14 p.m. Sunday. It's not known when the actual incident happened.Fittos said the door of the refreshment stand "was completely ripped off" and there were items tossed throughout the field.Stolen were food and drink items, police reported. The value of the stolen items wasn't known.Fittos said police will be checking the surveillance cameras as part of their investigation.The soccer field was vandalized last year, the chief said. The surveillance camera picked up an ATV driving to the building at that time, but the operator couldn't be identified.Fittos said he's upset about this situation, stating, "The sad part is, everything is donated" for the sake of the children.Anyone with information on this incident should call Summit Hill police at 570-645-7429.
