"He was walking around with a gun, but it wasn't loaded."In fact, she said numerous calls were made to police about him because he claimed he was seeing cowboys and Indians in his yard.Ray and Christina Flyte have three children, ages 8, 13 and 15."They're getting counseling (because of the tragedy)," she said."I know he loved his grandchildren," Christina said, but she said she feared for them playing outside when he said he began seeing the cowboys and Indians. The three children go with their parents each week to visit Flyte in Monroe County Correctional Facility.Flyte told police he got along with the neighbors, according to testimony at the hearing.Ray concurred."There were never any issues with them," hesaid.Christina said, "He was not the nicest man in the world, but I don't believe he would hurt anyone."
