A Schuylkill County driver is facing charges after fleeing police in Lehigh County. State police at Fogelsville said the incident began about 3:37 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, along Lower Macungie Road in Upper Macungie Township.

Troopers said Brian P. Chapman, 32, of Pottsville, fled troopers in a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 truck. As he fled he attempted to avoid spike strips laid across the road by township police. He traveled over a curb and left the road traveling through grass and mulch. He then struck a tree with the front passenger side of the truck. He continued westbound in the grass before coming to final rest facing west.Chapman was taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, troopers said, for treatment of a minor injury.
