Monroe County Crime Stoppers offering reward on robbery

A robbery at a Rite Aid Drug store in Brodheadsville is the next case under focus by the Monroe County Crime Stoppers. A cash award that leads to the arrest in this robbery investigation is being offered.

State police at Fern Ridge reported that the robbery occurred at 2:35 a.m. Tuesday, April 29.The suspect is approximately 6 feet tall, 220 pounds and was seen wearing a dark hooded jacket with white letters "HVAC&R" on the back and a white emblem/name on the left chest area.The man entered the Rite Aid Drug Store on State Route 209 in Brodheadsville, Monroe County and displayed a pocket knife approximately six inches long and demanded money.The sales clerk was unable to open the cash register. The suspect demanded three cartons of Marlboro red cigarettes and left the store on foot without any cash and headed south on Route 209 toward Lehighton.While on scene at the Rite Aid, at 3:16 a.m., another call from Monroe County Communications advised that the Sunoco in Pocono Township, Monroe County on State Route 715 in Tannersville was also robbed with the actor having the same physical description, but no vehicle description. The actor was able to get cash during the robbery, but no amount was available at this time.Rite Aid Corporation is offering an additional $5,000 reward in addition to the Monroe County Crime Stoppers reward for information that leads to an arrest in this incident.Anyone with information on this "Crime Of The Week" or any other serious crime or wanted person, is asked to call Monroe County Crime Stoppers at 1-866-370-1518.Callers could be eligible for cash rewards and you may remain anonymous.
