Palmerton was crowned the champion of the 2014 edition of the Carbon County Academic Meet, held April 16 at Weatherly Area High School.
All six of Carbon County's public schools participated in this year's event, with Palmerton winning the trophy.Jim Thorpe Area High School's teams won the last eight events.State Representative Doyle Heffley served as quizmaster and the trophy was provided by the Carbon County Chapter of the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees.The trophy will be on display at Palmerton Area High School until next year's competition.
Palmerton Area High School's team took first place at the 2014 Carbon County Academic Meet. Team members include: adviser Alex Knoll, Gavin Scott, Kaitlyn Stevens, Bruce Hettler, Lauren Campbell (holding trophy), Collin Green, Andrew Nosti. State Representative Doyle Heffley served as quizmaster.
