N'western continues CL domination

Northwestern continued its dominant run this season, picking up yet another Colonial League sweep on Tuesday afternoon. The Palmerton boys also swept both CL opponents, while the Lady Bombers were only able to earn a split.

Salisbury, Pen Argyl, NorthwesternBoth the Northwestern boys and girls squads enjoyed convincing victories against Pen Argyl and Salisbury.The boys team defeated Pen Argyl 104-32, and also Salisbury, 103-34.As for the girls, they were victorious against Pen Argyl, 102-20, and over Salisbury by a final score of 93-30.Northwestern's Cam Richardson was victorious in both the 100 and 200 events. Alec Fixl was victorious in the 300 hurdle event and placed second in the 100 hurdles.Lauren Anderson was impressive on the girl's side, as she won both the 100 and 200 events. Northwestern's Alexis Gawelko won the 100 and 300 hurdle events. The Lady Bulldogs gave a valiant effort, but fell to Notre Dame GP, 89-52, and Southern Lehigh 105-31.The Bulldogs took two of the three team relay events in the meet. The boys earned a sweep of Bangor (70-56) and Saucon Valley (96-31), while the Lady Bombers defeated Saucon Valley, 87-45, but suffered a narrow defeat to Bangor, 70-62.The boys capitalized on nine individual event wins and one relay victory to pull away from their opponents. Austin Shupp continued to run wild, winning the 200, 100 and 300 hurdles, while also helping the Bombers capture the 400-meter relay.
