A Northampton County woman was found dead inside her car at Mauch Chunk Lake Park in Jim Thorpe Saturday morning.

Mary Ann Miller, 55, of Palmer Township, was pronounced dead by the Carbon County Coroner's office.The death was ruled suicide, caused by carbon monoxide.Initially the Jim Thorpe Fire Department and Carbon County Emergency Management Agency were dispatched to the scene with it being reported as a hazardous material incident. They were released after it was determined that no hazardous situation occurred.Park rangers said the lake was not jeopardized by the incident, which happened near the beach area.Also responding were police officers from Jim Thorpe, Nesquehoning and Summit Hill.
