Three-vehicle crash probed in Polk Twp.

State police at Lehighton reported investigating a three-vehicle crash at 11:55 a.m. on Saturday, April 26, at the intersection of Gilbert and Old Stagecoach roads, and Short Lane, in Polk Township, Monroe County.

Troopers said Loren E. Hughart, 78, of Kunkletown, was eastbound on Short Lane driving a 2006 Nissan Sentra, and approaching the intersection. Marcy L. Cetnar, 45, of Kunkletown, driving a 2009 Ford Escape, was northbound on Gilbert Road while Patrick B. Schantzen, 56, of Brodheadsville, driving 1998 Buick Regal, was westbound on Stagecoach Road.Troopers said Hughart proceeded from Short Lane across Gilbert Road to go onto Stagecoach Road. As Hughart continued her car was struck on the passenger side by Cetnar's vehicle. Upon impact the Nissan crashed into Schantzen's Regal, which was stopped for a stop sign.Hughart, Cetnar and passengers, Judith A. Leslie, 61, of Saylorsburg, Devin H. Cetnar, 19, Brett B. Cetnar, 17, and Tyler C. Cetnar, 17, all of Kunkletown; Schantzen and passengers, Gordon S. Emery, 51, of Saylorsburg, Robyn L. Sengelaub, 31, and Karen Sengelaub, 65, both of Kunkletown, were all not injured.The Nissan and Ford had to be towed from the scene.Troopers cited Hughart for a stop sign violation.
